So what is this site about? Its about banjos a unique instrument thats been used in many types of music for about the last 300 years.Our goal is to share banjo music with each other as banjo players, and the world. So here is a place where you can download and listen to banjo music for free. We have both new and very experienced players here executing simple to complex arrangements of banjo music, providing a huge mix of styles and levels of talent. .
This project is an ongoing event that began back in back in 2001 when 29 contributors put out a 2 CD all banjo music set consisting of 58 songs.That project culminated in the sale of 250 copies in 10 countries and a demand for more. With that demand, and the limitations of time and money, subscribers from Alt.banjo newsgroup began this webproject in 2003. Succesfully sold out with 52 contributors, we now begin the newest edition and are once again accepting membership to the site.
